Prior to becoming counsel to OP, Michael was an associate in the litigation department of the New York offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he handled a variety of securities, corporate and business matters, as well as arbitration and real estate matters. Before joining Skadden, Michael was a law clerk to the Honorable Eugene Siler of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where he earned an Outstanding Service award. Michael earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. Michael was also the technical editor of the Kentucky Law Journal. Michael earned his B.S. in architecture as a Carlson-Duchen Scholar from the University of Virginia.
