Robert A. O'Hare Jr. is the firm's litigation practice group leader. He concentrates on complex business and commercial matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts, and in representing clients in securities and regulatory investigations and arbitrations. Most recently, Robert has been called upon to represent firm clients in subprime mortgage repurchase litigations.
In addition to his business and commercial practice, Robert has significant experience in representing clients in serious personal injury cases and insurance coverage disputes.
Robert co-founded OP in 1999. Before starting OP, Robert was a law clerk to Judge Collins J. Seitz of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He was an associate in the New York offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and the former Haight, Gardner Poor & Havens (now Holland & Knight LLP). In the litigation departments of each of these firms, Robert handled a variety of complex securities, corporate, business, and insurance litigations.
In 1993, Robert earned his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law where he served as articles and notes editor of the St. John's Law Review and was awarded the Louis R. Harolds Award. In 1988, he earned a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University and completed its undergraduate business administration program. Prior to practicing law, Robert served for eight years as a police officer and sergeant in the New York City Police Department in various enforcement and administrative assignments.
